Madrasat Addeera is the first school for girls in AlUla. It experienced a
transformative change in 2019, when its premises were converted into AlUla's first arts and
design centre. offering programmes in traditional arts that aim to guide and train artisans in
various techniques and tools. The objective is to transform and develop the region's traditional
arts with a contemporary twist, while also contributing to the preservation of AlUla's cultural
heritage.
Madrasat Addeera stands as a beacon for the revival of traditional arts, empowering
artisans to build a sustainable creative economy through their craft. The school
offers a comprehensive curriculum of workshops and masterclasses spanning textiles, stone and
wood carving, wool crafts, natural dyeing, and geometric drawing, alongside jewellery design,
soap and candle making, palm weaving, and ceramics.
It serves as a vital bridge between generations, a platform for creativity,
and a celebration of AlUla's enduring spirit and rich heritage.
